Top 20 Quarterbacks: 2026 Season Projections
Beyond the top 10, this board is really two stories: proven passers settling into new tiers, and a handful of names whose 2026 outlook depends on a job that isn't fully settled yet.

The top 10
We covered this tier in the flagship rankings post. Matthew Stafford leads on 46 passing touchdowns. Josh Allen is six-tenths behind on the rushing floor. Caleb Williams, Bo Nix, and Drake Maye take 3–5. Tyler Shough is the new name at ninth, on a full 16.5-game Saints line.
11–15: proven arms and a Year-2 rusher
Justin Herbert at 11 is the steadiest name in this tier — no rushing floor to lean on, but he is a top-15 lock most years on accuracy and volume alone.
Jaxson Dart at 12 is still the real story here. He is entering Year 2 — the Giants took him 25th overall in 2025, and he took over as the starter in Week 4 after Russell Wilson struggled. He finished as one of the better rushing quarterbacks in football, with nine rushing touchdowns in 12 starts, and this projection assumes real growth as a passer on top of that floor.
Jalen Hurts is 13th — still a rushing-floor quarterback, now on a 15.7-game slate instead of a locked-in top-eight finish. Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy close the tier as reliable, lower-ceiling passers. Both are the kind of quarterback a good offense elevates rather than the other way around.
16–20: name value versus 2026 reality
Joe Burrow at 16 is the name that still jumps out — a QB1 in most dynasty conversations, landing here because this projection assumes a limited game count (14.4), not because of any doubt about his ceiling. He missed nine games last season to a Grade 3 turf toe injury that required surgery. When he is on the field, he has been a top-four fantasy scorer in every full season he has played.
Kyler Murray at 17 comes with a real caveat. He signed with Minnesota as a free agent after Arizona released him this spring, landing in a room with J.J. McCarthy. It is an open competition, with Murray holding the edge on our latest depth chart. This projection assumes he wins the job and stays healthy. If either breaks the other way, this ranking does not hold. The 14.7-game slate already prices last year's five-game stub.
Lamar Jackson is 18th on the same 14.7-game slate. The rushing floor is still there. The season total is not a top-10 line if he does not play a full year. Trevor Lawrence and Cam Ward close the twenty. Ward was the No. 1 overall pick in 2025, and his rookie season was rough. This ranking is a bet that a full offseason as the starter closes some of that gap, not a sign his rookie tape was strong.

- His rookie year wasn't a small sample. He started 12 games for the Giants and produced nine rushing touchdowns, a floor most passers his age don't have. This projection bets that a full offseason as the starter adds passing growth on top of it.
- Does Kyler Murray have the Vikings' starting job locked up?
