Week 3 Injury Report: Three Young Quarterbacks Down
Week 3 injury report: Jaxson Dart is done for the regular season, Jayden Daniels is doubtful with the same elbow, and Caleb Williams is still week to week.
By Tyler Brandt, News Desk · September 24, 2026
Three starting quarterbacks got hurt within a few days of each other. One is done for the regular season. The other two are still on the Week 3 injury report as doubtful, and the chart has not moved them off QB1.
Jaxson Dart is out for the season
Jaxson Dart will have season-ending knee surgery after two defenders hit him on New York's first drive Monday night. John Harbaugh said he will miss the rest of the regular season. A postseason return is still on the table if the Giants get that far. Jameis Winston starts Week 3 against Tennessee and is the quarterback the rest of the way. Monday's first read had the MRI still out. Surgery is the update.
Tuesday's injury report still lists him doubtful with an MCL sprain. That report is behind the surgery news. Thursday's depth chart already has Winston at QB1 and Dart at QB2.
Dynasty impact:don't drop him. The Engine rest-of-season line is the two games he already played, 27.4 half-PPR. The dynasty rate stays 18.0. Winston's remaining weeks sit around 13 to 15 half-PPR. A one-year absence does not rewrite the longer hold.
Jayden Daniels is doubtful with the same elbow
Jayden Daniels is doubtful with an elbow injury. It is the same elbow that cost him time in 2025, the one we covered in the Week 2 injury report. Thursday's chart still lists him QB1. Marcus Mariota is QB2. The Week 3 report says doubtful. It does not say injured reserve.
Dynasty impact: hold, and watch the recovery. A second hit to the same joint is the reason for caution. Wait until the report says injured reserve before you treat the absence as official.
Caleb Williams is still week to week
Caleb Williams is doubtful with a right hamstring and still listed as Chicago's QB1. Ben Johnson has left Monday night against Philadelphia open. He has not put a return week on it. The fuller picture is in Tuesday's Bears quarterback note. Tyson Bagent is questionable in the concussion protocol. If neither plays, Case Keenum is the third quarterback on the chart.
Dynasty impact: leave his value alone. Of the three quarterbacks, his is the tag that can still clear before a kickoff. Monday is an availability question. It is not a lost year.
Jayden Reed is questionable, and the scary part has eased
Jayden Reed has feeling and movement in all extremities after the hit that sent him to the hospital. Sunday's call was a neck injury. Monday's update called it a back injury. He is questionable for Thursday against Atlanta, with no return date past that. He is listed WR2 behind Christian Watson. Tucker Kraft is already Green Bay's TE1.
Dynasty impact: the movement update is good news. There is still no date to trade on. Wait for one.
A few more worth knowing
The Chargers list Charlie Kolar out with a forearm and David Njoku out with a lower-leg injury. Those are Out tags. The report does not have either on injured reserve. Kolar is still TE1 on the chart and Njoku is TE4. Oronde Gadsden II is the next tight end listed.
Jonathon Brooks is doubtful with a groin. He is already RB4 in Carolina. Chuba Hubbard is the RB1, so this designation does not hand him a job he didn't already have.
Kyler Murray is off the Week 3 report after a Week 2 concussion tag, and Thursday's chart lists him as Minnesota's starter. Sam Darnold is out with a lower-body injury. He is still SEA QB1 on the chart. Drew Lock is QB2.

FAQ
- Where do Jaxson Dart, Jayden Daniels, and Caleb Williams stand heading into Week 3?
- Dart is out for the rest of the 2026 regular season after knee surgery. Jameis Winston is the Giants starter. Daniels is doubtful with the same elbow that cost him time in 2025 and is still listed as Washington’s starter, with Marcus Mariota behind him. Williams is doubtful with a hamstring and still listed as Chicago’s starter for Monday night.
- Should I drop Jaxson Dart after a season-ending injury?
- No. In a dynasty league this is a lost 2026 season. Our rest-of-season counting line keeps the two games he already played. The dynasty rate stays 18.0 half-PPR points per game.
- How is a dislocated elbow different from a typical quarterback injury?
- A hamstring often clarifies within a few days. A second dislocation of the same elbow, which is what Jayden Daniels is dealing with, carries more uncertainty than a first-time injury. Watch the recovery before you move him.
- Where can I check the latest official injury designations before my Week 3 lineup locks?
- Practice reports update through the week. Cross-check them against the start/sit tool before you lock a lineup. Green Bay plays Thursday, so Jayden Reed’s questionable tag is the one that cannot wait until Sunday.
