Dynasty roster news for Thursday, Oct. 22: Lamar Jackson, Saquon Barkley and Zach Charbonnet return, McCarthy starts, plus Love, Hall and Rice updates.
By Tyler Brandt · October 22, 2026
Lamar Jackson and Saquon Barkley both look on track for Week 7, and Seattle activated Zach Charbonnet. Statuses can change by Friday's final report.
Roster news
- Lamar Jackson (ankle)practiced from the start of Thursday's session and threw deep without favoring the ankle. Lamar Jackson is trending toward playing Sunday against Cincinnati. Check the official report before you set a lineup. If he plays, Tyler Huntley goes back to the bench.
- Saquon Barkley (hamstring) is back at practice and expected to play Monday night against Dallas. Saquon Barkley is on our trade-deadline watch.
- Zach Charbonnet was activated off the PUP list, and tight end Elijah Arroyo went on injured reserve with a shoulder injury the team has called significant. Zach Charbonnet joins Emanuel Wilson in a backfield that is still missing Jadarian Price. A Sunday role is possible, not promised.
- J.J. McCarthy starts for the Giants at Houston. J.J. McCarthy is a QB2 in a tough matchup, and Jaxson Dart is out for the year.
- Baker Mayfield (thumb) practiced again Thursday in a glove after a full Wednesday, and Tampa Bay will decide by Friday. Baker Mayfield is the name to watch. Receiver Emeka Egbuka (concussion and foot) worked on the side and is not ruled out.
- Jeremiyah Love (ankle) is expected to sit again, which gives more work to Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight. Jeremiyah Love missed last week with the same ankle.
- Breece Hall returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday. Breece Hall is not cleared yet, so Braelon Allen starts if Hall is out.
- Patriots at Bears tonight: running back Kyle Monangai is out, so D'Andre Swift leads Chicago's backfield.
- Chiefs: left tackle Josh Simmons is going on injured reserve, and the earliest he can return is Week 11. Rashee Rice did not practice Wednesday, and Travis Kelce was limited.
- C.J. Gardner-Johnson's one-game suspension was upheld. Buffalo is on a bye, so he misses Week 8 against Baltimore.
Worth acting on
Tank Dell is on track to come off injured reserve Sunday against the Giants, nearly two years after the knee injury. Stash him if he is still on your waiver wire. He was still listed on IR Thursday morning, so confirm the activation.
Matthew Golden has scored double-digit half-PPR points in five of six games, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba leads the league in receiving yards with 717.
For dynasty
Trade talk is growing around Barkley and Jonathan Taylor ahead of the Nov. 10 deadline, since Indianapolis just fired its general manager. Sam LaPorta says he will go get paid elsewhere if Detroit does not extend him. McCarthy's starts are a dynasty audition with Dart out. Our trade-deadline watch covers all three.
