Saints 24, Ravens 17: Shough sneaks it, Blackmon seals it
By Jordan Vance
Tyler Shough disappeared into a pile at the goal line twice in a row, and the second time, officials ruled he made it. New Orleans went for it on fourth down rather than kick a tying field goal, Shough snuck it in from a yard out with 1:28 left, and the call held up after a lengthy replay review. The Saints upset Baltimore 24–17 as 8.5-point road underdogs.
Chris Olave scored from 21 yards out with 9:42 left, and Travis Etienne ran in the two-point conversion to tie it at 17. That capped a long stretch where Baltimore's offense had gone cold — the Ravens didn't pick up a first down on either of their previous two possessions. Shough finished 27-of-34 for 252 yards and a passing touchdown, adding 23 rushing yards and the game-winning score on the ground. Olave caught 8 passes for 86 yards on the day.
Baltimore had one more chance. Lamar Jackson drove the Ravens to the New Orleans 37 with under 20 seconds left, needing just a big play to set up a potential game-tying field goal. Instead, his deep pass was intercepted by Julian Blackmon with 13 seconds on the clock, sealing it for the Saints.
Derrick Henry ran for 68 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries — a quieter follow-up to his three-touchdown opener, but still the clear focal point of Baltimore's offense. Rashod Bateman had his best day of the young season, 7 catches for 88 yards and a touchdown, stepping up with Zay Flowers sidelined by a hamstring injury. On defense, sacks from Trey Hendrickson and Mike Green had briefly given Baltimore a real chance to put the game away late in the third quarter before New Orleans answered.
Fantasy winners
Shough is putting together a real case as a legitimate streaming quarterback — two straight weeks of real passing volume, plus rushing-touchdown equity at the goal line on Sunday. Bateman's 88-yard, one-score day is worth remembering the next time Flowers is out or limited; he's shown he can produce when given the target share.
Fantasy questions
Flowers' hamstring is the injury to track into Week 3 — Baltimore's passing game still worked without him, but it's clearly better with him healthy. Henry's workload stayed steady even in a lower-scoring effort, so there's no real concern there, just a quieter box score against a defense that made the second half difficult for everyone.
