Week 3 Key Injuries
Justin Jefferson and De'Von Achane both left Sunday's games, Caleb Williams' hamstring is worse than first reported, and Puka Nacua is out a second week.

Sunday cost the league two of its bigger names for weeks at a time, and corrected one we had wrong on Thursday.
Correction: Caleb Williams' hamstring is worse than we said
Thursday's injury report called this a mild strain and said Chicago hadn't ruled Caleb Williams out for Monday night. He was ruled out, and Schefter and Rapoport now report a Grade 2 right hamstring strain, a three-to-four-week injury. That's a month, not a game-time call. Chicago's backup plan for the next month is the story now.
Justin Jefferson left in the first quarter with an ankle sprain
Justin Jefferson ankle got forced into eversion, the mechanism for a medial ankle sprain, and he didn't return. Reports put him out four to eight weeks. Jordan Addison played well in relief, an acrobatic 30-yard catch and a 41-yard touchdown among them, and still isn't Jefferson. Minnesota's passing game runs through Jefferson, and it will run through Addison for a while now.
De'Von Achane tore his ACL
De'Von Achane went down awkwardly against Kansas City and is done for the year. Ollie Gordon II took over and ran it 17 times for 41 yards and a touchdown before cramping out late, and Miami had no other back to turn to. Jaylen Wright is the name to watch for Week 4 if Miami needs more depth.
Mike Evans got carted off, then got good news
Mike Evans left with what the team first called a rib injury and later said might be an oblique. He was carted off, which usually means the worst. Kyle Shanahan said Monday there's nothing long-term. Wait for the full evaluation before assuming he's fine.
Puka Nacua is out again, with no return date
Puka Nacua missed every practice this week with a hip and groin injury and was inactive Sunday night, his second straight missed game. Los Angeles hasn't given a Week 4 timeline. Davante Adams remains the one absorbing the targets in the meantime.
A few more worth knowing
Baker Mayfield dislocated his thumb in his third straight rough game, six sacks and a 50% completion rate before the injury, and is projected out five to eleven weeks. Breece Hall left with a thigh injury, timeline still unclear. Travis Etienne strained a hamstring and is projected out five to seven weeks, with research suggesting teams that rush a hamstring back risk making it worse. New England's line took another hit too: Mike Onwenu broke his ankle, and his fill-in, Greg Van Roten, left the same game with a thigh injury.

FAQ
- How reliable is a same-day injury designation like "rib injury" or "oblique"?
- Not very, in the first hours. Teams often revise the diagnosis once testing happens, as with Mike Evans on Sunday. Wait a day before trusting the first label.
- Should I drop De'Von Achane after a torn ACL?
- Not in a dynasty league. A torn ACL is a long recovery, not a career-ending one for most backs his age. Hold and revisit next summer.
- Where can I check the latest official injury designations before my Week 4 lineup locks?
- Team practice reports update daily through the week. Check those against our start/sit tool before finalizing anything.
