By Derek Sallis · October 13, 2026

Tyler Shough finished Sunday with negative fantasy points, and the Jacksonville receiver who scored 27.4 was not the one our board expected. These are the biggest gaps between the Engine's final Week 5 projection and the actual score.

Redzone: touchdown days

Jaylen Warren scored 33.8 against 12.4 with Rico Dowdle out, running 15 times for 101 yards and a touchdown and catching all six of his targets for 87 yards and another score in Pittsburgh's 34-22 win. Christian Watson scored 29.3 against 10.6 on six catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns, and Matthew Golden added 123 yards in the same 31-7 win over Chicago.

Parker Washington scored 27.4 against 7.9, catching six of nine targets for 124 yards and two touchdowns. The man we thought would be Jacksonville's top receiver had a different afternoon: Brian Thomas Jr. was targeted three times, caught none, and scored 0.0 against 9.9.

MarShawn Lloyd scored 16.2 against 5.4 on two rushing touchdowns, though he gained only 31 yards on 10 carries. Isaiah Likely caught 11 of 13 targets for 94 yards and two touchdowns for 26.9, the best tight end score of the week.

Redzone: volume days

Malik Nabers saw 20 targets and scored 23.6 against 11.6, and Jameis Winston threw 54 times for 25.7 against 10.0 in a 27-27 tie. Monday night belonged to the Rams' passing game, which we called a good matchup. Puka Nacua caught 17 of 24 targets for 29.2 against 22.9, and Matthew Stafford threw for 383 yards and three touchdowns to score 27.3 against 25.9, in Buffalo's 37-34 win.

Stalled: the quarterback and his targets

Tyler Shough went 16 of 25 for 96 yards and two interceptions, scoring -0.2 against 19.5, as New Orleans lost 23-13 to Minnesota. That's the game we flagged as tough for the Saints, and their best fantasy score was Kendre Miller's 9.0. CeeDee Lamb caught two of five targets on Thursday for 1.9 against 16.4.

Stalled: scripts and stars

Nico Collins caught five of seven targets for 56 yards and scored 8.1 against 18.1 in a 26-3 win over Tennessee. Jonathan Taylor ran 15 times for 45 yards and scored 9.7 against 20.0 in Indianapolis' 34-22 loss at Pittsburgh. Rome Odunze saw nine targets and scored 3.5 against 12.5 in a 31-7 loss.

Jeremiyah Love scored 2.2 against 14.6 in Arizona's 45-21 loss to Detroit, and Omarion Hampton scored 4.4 against 16.7 as the Chargers lost 23-17 to Denver. Cam Ward scored 5.0 against 18.0 and Tennessee scored three points.

FAQ

Who were the Week 5 dynasty risers and busts?
Jaylen Warren had the widest beat among the names we featured: 33.8 half-PPR against a 12.4 projection on 15 carries, six catches and two touchdowns. Parker Washington scored 27.4 against 7.9 while Brian Thomas Jr. finished at 0.0 against 9.9. Tyler Shough posted -0.2 against 19.5. CeeDee Lamb (1.9 on 16.4), Jonathan Taylor (9.7 on 20.0) and Nico Collins (8.1 on 18.1) were the headline stalls.
Does a big beat like Parker Washington's mean a role change?
It can, but check the target count first. Washington saw nine targets and Thomas saw three, so the usage did move, though two long touchdowns inflated the score.
Why do running backs on losing teams miss so often?
A team that trails tends to throw more and run less. Taylor, Love and Hampton all played in losses.
Is a negative fantasy score a bad sign for a quarterback?
It's one game. Shough's -0.2 came from two interceptions on 96 yards, and the question is whether New Orleans' scoring offense can recover, not whether one game defines him.
