Broncos-Rams Week 3 Recap: Nix Wins a 30–26 SNF Comeback

Denver trailed 16–0 at halftime and outscored the Rams 30–10 the rest of the way, capped by Bo Nix diving over the pile for a 1-yard touchdown with 47 seconds left. The Broncos won 30–26 on Sunday Night Football, their latest comeback in a season full of them.

Nix and Hufanga flip the second half

Nix threw for 186 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, and his damage came late. A touchdown to Pat Bryant and a two-point pass to Jaylen Waddle tied the score in the third quarter. A replay overturned an apparent go-ahead score, and Nix punched it in two plays later anyway. The real turning point was safety Talanoa Hufanga, who had dropped two interceptions earlier in the season. He picked off a pass intended for Kyren Williams and ran it back for a touchdown. Denver outgained the Rams 194 to 105 yards in the second half after getting run off the field, 273 to 63, in the first.

Stafford’s yards — and two picks

Matthew Stafford threw for 390 yards and two touchdowns but also two interceptions, the last one ending the game in the end zone on the final play. Williams had 158 yards from scrimmage, 88 rushing and 70 receiving, and Davante Adams caught 7 passes for 137 yards. Tyler Higbee caught 8 of 11 targets for a touchdown, and Konata Mumpfield scored on a 48-yard catch that briefly gave the Rams the lead with under four minutes left.

Lineup calls for Week 4

Williams' 158 total yards is a strong floor even in a loss, and Adams stays the clear top target in that passing game. Nix's second-half surge is becoming a pattern in Denver. Don't write him off just because the box score looks quiet at halftime.
