Chiefs-Dolphins Week 3 Recap: Achane Is Done, Walker Scores Three

De'Von Achane took an 11-yard run in the first quarter, got tackled awkwardly, and walked slowly to the sideline. He never came back, and testing later confirmed a torn ACL that ends his season. Kansas City beat Miami 24–10, and the Dolphins are 0–3. The box score tells one story; the injury tells the one dynasty and redraft managers will still be sorting out in Week 4.

Kansas City wins ugly — Walker carries the fantasy night

Patrick Mahomes threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns, both to Kenneth Walker III, who also ran for a score. That's three touchdowns touching Walker's hands or feet. He was the top fantasy scorer in the game. Mahomes said the Chiefs "didn't play to our standard." The box score agrees. Kansas City had averaged more than 450 yards and 32 points through two weeks and managed neither against a winless Miami team.

Willis and Gordon kept Miami in it

That's largely because Malik Willis kept Miami in it without Achane. He ran nine times for 56 yards and threw for 210, and Ollie Gordon II stepped into the void Achane left with 17 carries for 41 yards and a touchdown. Chris Bell led Miami's receivers with 67 yards, and Malik Washington drew 10 targets.

Lineup calls for Week 4

Walker's usage as both a runner and a red-zone target makes him a strong start as long as this role holds. Achane's injury opens a real opportunity in Miami's backfield; Gordon is the name in line for volume right after what we saw Sunday, even if the chart moves again once Miami gets healthier at RB.
