Chicago used its third quarterback in four weeks and still rolled. Kyle Monangai carried 30 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns, the defense held New York to 178 total yards, and the Bears beat the Jets 23–12 to move to 3–1.

Monangai set the tone on the ground

Monangai's 30 carries are a career high in the official weekly file. Both scores were short runs, including a 5-yard touchdown with 2:26 left in the third that made it 20–6. D'Andre Swift still had 15 carries for 58 yards and two catches for 16, so the work was not a one-back shutout. Cairo Santos made all three field goals and both extra points.

Bagent, Keenum, and a slow Jets offense

Caleb Williams was Out with the hamstring he picked up in Week 2. Case Keenum had won at Philadelphia the week before, but coach Ben Johnson started Tyson Bagent and used a split look on the first snap before Bagent took the rest. Bagent finished 25 of 34 for 268 yards with one interception, roughly 8.8 half-PPR points without a touchdown pass. Minkah Fitzpatrick had the pick. It was the Jets' first interception in 20 games in the broadcast storyline; the box still shows three other would-be picks wiped by penalty.

Rome Odunze caught 6 of 7 targets for 94 yards. Luther Burden III had 4 catches for 63 yards plus an 11-yard run. Colston Loveland caught 6 of 9 for 57. Chicago ran 54 times and threw 34 for 500 yards of offense and 26 first downs.

New York never found a rhythm

Geno Smith went 8 of 15 for 119 yards. Isaiah Williams caught 2 of 3 targets for 73 yards and the Jets' only touchdown, a score that cut it to 23–12 after Jason Sanders missed the extra point. Sanders made both field goals. Garrett Wilson had 3 catches on 4 targets for 27 yards. Braelon Allen ran 14 times for 59 yards. Kenyon Sadiq was targeted four times without a catch. The Jets had seven first downs and 178 yards.

Chicago's defense has allowed one touchdown in each of the last two weeks. Over Minnesota, Philadelphia, and the Jets it has given up 28 points combined in the team scores.

Lineup calls for Week 5

Monangai is the back to roster while Williams is Out. Thirty carries and two scores are roughly 27 half-PPR points; that volume is not guaranteed every week, but he is listed RB1 ahead of Swift. Bagent is a desperation streamer without a touchdown. Odunze is the receiver to trust. On the Jets side, check whether Breece Hall practices before you start anyone in this backfield.
