Daniels dislocates his elbow as Dallas wins, 37–20
By Jordan Vance
Jayden Daniels dislocated his left elbow Sunday — the same elbow he dislocated last November — and the injury overshadowed everything else about Washington's 37–20 loss in Dallas.
Jayden Daniels was hurt on the last play of the first half. He had completed 11 of 17 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown and run 7 times for 69 yards. A 4-yard score to Stefon Diggs had cut Dallas's lead to 17–10. Washington later reached a first-and-goal at the 1 with 12 seconds left. Left guard Chris Paul stepped on Daniels' foot as he dropped back. Daniels braced with his left arm and threw an incomplete pass as time expired. He walked toward the sideline, went down again, and was carted off with a towel over his head. Coach Dan Quinn confirmed the dislocation, and X-rays showed no fracture. Daniels had more imaging Monday and is seeing specialists Tuesday and Wednesday. There is no return date. The same elbow kept him out for the rest of 2025 after he came back for one game in Week 14 and got hurt again.
Marcus Mariota took over with Dallas ahead 17–10 and completed 11 of 16 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. Diggs caught both of Washington's passing touchdowns, 5 of 6 targets for 47 yards. The second was Mariota's 20-yard throw, which made it 30–20 in the fourth quarter, and Dallas answered with the last score. Washington outgained Dallas, 389 yards to 332.
Dak Prescott completed 26 of 31 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns, with no interception. The fourth was the 249th of his career, moving him past Tony Romo for the Cowboys' record. CeeDee Lamb caught 8 of 9 targets for 153 yards and two scores, a 31.3-point day that led the game. Prescott was next at 29.8. Jake Ferguson caught all 4 of his targets for 43 yards and two touchdowns.
Fantasy winners: Prescott and Lamb both delivered top-of-the-week lines. Ferguson's two scores came on four targets, which puts him on the streaming list at tight end in weeks Dallas is spreading the ball around.
Fantasy questions: Daniels' elbow is the only story that matters out of this game for fantasy. He is out this week, and Mariota is the starter. Quinn has not set a return date while Daniels sees specialists Tuesday and Wednesday. The same elbow cost him the rest of last season after a one-game return, so plan on Mariota until the team gives a timeline.
