Week 8 Dynasty Winners and Losers: Allgeier Takes Over, Jackson Goes Down
Dynasty winners and losers from Week 8: Joe Burrow's 462 yards, Tyler Allgeier's takeover in Arizona and Lamar Jackson's thumb surgery.
By Derek Sallis · November 2, 2026
Week 8 gave dynasty owners plenty of box scores to react to. Most won't matter by Thanksgiving. The ones that will are the games where a job changed hands, and three of them happened in Arizona, Denver and Baltimore.
Winners
Joe Burrow, QB, Bengals
Joe Burrow threw for 462 yards and five touchdowns against Tennessee, then ran in the winner from nine yards out in overtime. No quarterback has thrown for more in a game this season.
He scored 39.5 half-PPR points. Every score he has posted this year beat the one before it: 14, 16, 23, 24, 25, 29, now 39.5. Our Week 9 board has him first among quarterbacks at 28.1, almost four points ahead of any other quarterback.
Tee Higgins, WR, Bengals
Tee Higgins scored 32.5, nearly nine points above his old best. Ja'Marr Chase added 25.6, a season high of his own. Our Week 9 projection puts Higgins at 22.5 and Chase at 18.1. The model leans on the last three games, and those favor Higgins for now.
Tyler Allgeier, RB, Cardinals
Jeremiyah Love left in the first quarter with an ankle injury. Zonovan Knight left in the second with a concussion. Tyler Allgeier then played every snap of the second half and overtime.
He ran 11 times for 147 yards and a touchdown, and caught five passes for 44 yards and another score. His 33.6 points trailed only Burrow's. Allgeier's role this week is safe because Love is out. After that, it depends on health.
Jonah Coleman, RB, Broncos
Denver put RJ Harvey on injured reserve after a knee injury in Thursday practice. Jonah Coleman took 19 of the 21 second-half snaps, ran 11 times for 41 yards and a touchdown, and caught four passes for 63. J.K. Dobbins averaged 1.9 yards per carry and finished with 1.3 points.
Harold Fannin Jr., TE, Browns
Harold Fannin Jr. caught 10 passes on 12 targets for 154 yards in a 27-6 loss. We projected him for 5.9 points. He scored 18.4. Cleveland trailed all afternoon, which pads targets for everyone, but 12 of them is a big share for a tight end.
Losers
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens
Lamar Jackson hurt his right thumb on Baltimore's first offensive snap at Buffalo. Coach Jesse Minter said Jackson needs surgery and will go on injured reserve, which could end his season. Backup Tyler Huntley hurt his toe in the second quarter, and undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano finished a 36-10 loss.
This is a 2026 loss for Jackson. Nothing reported so far points to a problem next season.
The tight end spot got worse too. Mark Andrews played two snaps in two-tight-end sets while a rookie played all of them. He has gone six straight games under 30 receiving yards. He is 31.
Jeremiyah Love, RB, Cardinals
Jeremiyah Love's ankle has now cost him two full games, most of a third, and Week 9. He averaged 2.6 yards per carry in his one quarter against Dallas, which is too small a sample to read.
Ashton Jeanty, RB, Raiders
Mike Washington Jr. carried 25 times for 83 yards and took the goal-line work. Ashton Jeanty ran twice for nine yards and caught three passes for 64. Las Vegas won 38-33, and Jeanty has been off the injury report for two weeks, so neither game script nor health explains it.
Our Week 9 board already trimmed his projection to about seven carries.

FAQ
- Who gained the most dynasty value in Week 8?
- Allgeier and Coleman gained the most, because each inherited a lead role after an injury. Burrow and Higgins gained on production, and our projections already expected a good week from both.
- Is Lamar Jackson done for 2026?
- The Ravens say he needs thumb surgery and will go on injured reserve, a move that could end his season. The team has not given a return date.
- What should I do with Ashton Jeanty after Week 8?
- Hold unless a buyer pays a first-round price. His snaps are down and his carries went to a teammate, but a full role change is not confirmed after one game.
