Dynasty Mailbag: Sadiq's Price, Kyler Murray and Omarion Hampton

Dynasty trade check for Week 7: what Kenyon Sadiq is worth in picks, whether Kyler Murray is worth owning, and Omarion Hampton’s outlook. Marcus Reyes.

Three questions this week, all from readers asking what a player is worth now. I take a side on each.

What is Kenyon Sadiq worth in future picks?

I would pay a 2027 second-round pick for Kenyon Sadiq, and I would not pay a first.

The Jets took him 16th overall in April, and he is 21. He has 15 catches for 158 yards through six games, and most of that came in one afternoon. He caught seven of eight targets for 105 yards and a touchdown against Detroit in Week 3, when Mason Taylor was out. Taylor came back, and Sadiq has three catches on ten targets across the three games since.

The targets did not follow the Week 3 game. In Week 6 he had three and Taylor had six. A first-round tight end at 21 should hold value, which is why a second is a fair price. A first is paying for a role he does not have yet.

If you own him, hold. Selling a 21-year-old tight end after a slow month is selling low.

Is Kyler Murray worth owning in dynasty?

In a superflex league, yes, at a QB2 price. In a one-quarterback league, no.

Kyler Murray is 29 and has played four games for Minnesota. He has 662 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, and 93 rushing yards on 20 carries. His best game came in Week 5 at New Orleans, when he completed 24 of 30 passes, ran for 51 yards and played with Justin Jefferson.

His value is in his legs. Our model has him at 16.3 points in Week 7 against Indianapolis, including about 31 rushing yards. That is a mid-range starter, not a difference-maker. At 29, with that passing line, I would not pay anything above a second-round pick.

What is Omarion Hampton's outlook?

Hold him. Selling now means selling the worst version of him.

Omarion Hampton has 80 carries for 289 yards, 3.6 a carry, with three touchdowns and nine catches on ten targets. He averaged 4.4 yards a carry as a rookie on the games he played. The Chargers are 0-6, and Justin Herbert was their leading rusher in Week 6 with 26 yards.

The workload is the bigger worry. Last week Hampton and Kimani Vidal each had seven carries. Keaton Mitchell had two, and Herbert had five. Los Angeles is on a bye.

I would hold Hampton because the offense is the problem more than the back. His yards per carry fell with the team, and a better offense next year fixes that. If you are shopping him, sell only for a late first or better. Check the offer in the Dynasty Trade Calculator before you answer.

FAQ

How much should I pay for a young tight end with a small role?
Pay for the draft slot and age, not one box score. A first-round tight end at 21 is worth a second-round pick while his role is unsettled.
Is a 29-year-old quarterback worth keeping in dynasty?
In superflex, yes, if he starts and runs. In a one-quarterback league, a quarterback with a thin passing line is not worth a premium.
Should I sell a running back during his team's bye week?
Only if you get a fair price. A bye week does not change his role, and his value usually recovers when the offense plays again.
