The Front Seven: Cashman Led Week 7, but Tackles Decide Week 8
Dynasty IDP column: Week 7 leaders Cashman, Adebawore and Bates, plus Week 8 projections and which defenders to trust after big games.
By Derek Sallis · October 29, 2026
Blake Cashman scored 33.0 points in Week 7, more than any other defender. We project him at 22.1 against Detroit this week. That gap is the lesson of IDP scoring, where the big games come from plays that rarely repeat.
IDP means individual defensive players. In our scoring a solo tackle is worth 1.5 points, a sack 4, an interception 5 and a pass defended 1.5.
Linebackers
Cashman had 12 tackles, two sacks and four passes defended. The sacks and passes were 14 of his 33 points. Our Week 8 line gives him 11.0 tackles and 0.9 sacks, and the tackles are the part that holds.
Alex Singleton scored 29.3 on 19 tackles and a sack, and he projects at 15.9 against Kansas City. Yaya Diaby took 22.5 from three sacks, and he projects at 10.5.
Two linebackers project above their Week 7 marks. Bobby Okereke goes from 16.3 to 17.4 against Green Bay on Thursday night. Quincy Williams goes from 15.3 to 16.6 at Pittsburgh. Both project for 8 or more tackles, and tackles are the part of the score that repeats.
Defensive line
Adetomiwa Adebawore led the line with two sacks and 20.3 points. He projects at 10.9 against Jacksonville, still the highest of this group. Boye Mafe falls from 14.0 to 9.7 but has the best sack projection of the group at 1.0.
Anthony Campbell scored 18.0 on one sack, a forced fumble and two tackles for loss, and he projects at 5.9. He is questionable for Thursday night. Games built on a sack and a fumble are the noisiest on this list.
Maxx Crosby is the steady one. He scored 6.5 and projects at 6.2.
Defensive backs
Jessie Bates led the backs at 20.3 on an interception, two passes defended and a forced fumble. He projects at 14.5 against Tampa Bay.
Kevin Winston Jr. is the closest to a repeat. He scored 16.5 on 14 tackles and nothing else, and he projects at 15.7 on 13 tackles. His score has no sacks or turnovers in it.
Kyler Gordon projects highest of all backs at 17.9, up from 12.5. Our line gives him 1.5 sacks, which is unusual for a defensive back, so lean on his floor of 10.7. Cam Taylor-Britt is out.
Byes
Eleven players on these three lists have no game this week. Houston, New Orleans, the Giants and San Francisco are idle, so Fred Warner, Micah McFadden and Henry To'oTo'o sit out. Six linebackers, two linemen and three backs are affected.

FAQ
- Who is the top IDP linebacker for Week 8?
- Blake Cashman, projected at 22.1 points against Detroit. He led all linebackers with 33.0 in Week 7.
- Why do IDP projections drop so far after a big game?
- Sacks, interceptions and forced fumbles are rare, and they made up much of the top scores. Tackles repeat more often, so a player whose points came from tackles, like Kevin Winston Jr., projects close to his last score.
- Which defensive linemen lead Week 8 projections?
- Adetomiwa Adebawore at 10.9, then Boye Mafe at 9.7. Compare them against your roster in the Dynasty Trade Calculator.
