Dynasty Mailbag: Real Reader Trade Questions

"Should I draft Carnell Tate or Jadarian Price in my dynasty league?"

Tatewent 4th overall to Tennessee — the first receiver off the board. He's a 6,396 DVS, listed TEN WR1, and the Engine has him at 201.1 half-PPR points (11.8 per game). Pricewent 32nd overall to Seattle. He's a 3,952 DVS, listed SEA RB2 behind Zach Charbonnet, projected for 113.5 points. Both are true rookies. Neither has an NFL snap.

That's not close on the board. Tate's score is about 60% higher, and the role gap is bigger than the pick gap: a listed WR1 versus a committee RB2. Draft capital still matters at this stage — pick 4 versus pick 32 — but it is not a 3× gap, and you shouldn't talk about it like one.

Call: Tate, unless your roster is already stacked at receiver and you have a real running-back hole, not a preference. Need can move this. A mild RB lean cannot.

"I'm being offered Justin Jefferson, TreVeyon Henderson, and a late 2nd for Jadarian Price, Blake Corum, a middle 1st, and a 2028 late 1st."

Run the actual values. Jefferson is a 6,276 DVS— 16th among receivers, not a 9,000-chip. He went WR2 in 2024 (265.1 half-PPR) and WR25 in 2025 (159.5). The Engine's 2026 line is 12.1 points per game, 206 on the season: a partial bounce, not a return to 2024. Kyler Murray is Minnesota's starter now, so last year's quarterback mess is not the 2026 projection — and 12.1 still isn't WR2 form.

Henderson sits at 6,429 DVS, a shade above Jefferson. The profile read is Buy — 23 years old, RB18 as a rookie (190.7 half-PPR in 17 games), listed Patriots RB2. On your side, Price is 3,952 and Corum is 671 DVS. Corum's the climb: RB83 in 2024 to RB37 in 2025, and the stance on that path is Buy. He is not the cost. The picks are.

Using our pick chart: a 2026 middle 1st is 7,216, a 2028 late 1st is 4,293, a late 2nd is 3,444. Jefferson + Henderson + the late 2nd lands around 16,150. Price + Corum + the two firsts lands around 16,130. That is a wash, not a smash.

Call:Fair on the board, not a gift. Take it if you want Jefferson's production plus Henderson's year-2 RB path and you can live without those firsts. Pass if you're rebuilding — you're moving a middle 1st, a future 1st, and a real rookie for a 27-year-old coming off WR25. Jefferson's name does not outweigh that package. "Hold or drop Jaret Patterson for dynasty?"

Patterson is a 73 DVS — 1,265th on the valued board, LAC RB4, undrafted. He played six games in 2025 and finished RB85 (24.2 half-PPR). The Engine parks him at 0.6 points per game over seven games. That is not a stash. It is a leftover.

Call:Drop in almost every standard-depth league. If he's already on your bench for free, you didn't overpay — you also don't need to keep him. There are better speculative pieces unless your roster is unusually deep.

"Kenyon Sadiq's dynasty trade value, as far as future picks go?"

Sadiq is a 5,675 DVS, listed NYJ TE1, 16th overall. The profile read is Buy. The Engine has him at 8.5 points per game, 145 on the season. A current late 1st sits at 6,232; an early 2nd at 4,510. He prices in the late-1st / high-2nd band — not a mid-1st (7,216).

Rookie tight ends are a slow burn. Year-1 production tells you less here than at any other skill spot, which is why you do not jump the line.

Call:A late 1st is the conversation. Don't overpay a mid-1st to get him today. Patience is the position.
